Connecting Congregations - Estonia
Calvary is a connecting congregation with the Ruusmae Methodist Church in the village of Ruusamae, Estonia. This is a program through Methodist World Evangelism which connects two congregations who commit to the building of a relationship through prayer, the exchange of news, financial support, and opportunities for members to meet each other. This is a new relationship and we are excited to see how it will grow! We have also established a partnership with the Agape Methodist Church in Parnu, Estonia; having hosted their Children's Choir in May of 2000, and sending members on a work team there in 1998. The Calvary-Agape partnership is growing. Calvary also has an ongoing relationship with the Lighthouse project which serves street children, and in the summer of 2008 even participated in a “reverse mission trip,” bringing the youth to Nashville to share in the life of the entire Calvary congregation.

Ulster Project of Nashville
The ecumenical effort brings Catholic and Protestant young people from Northern Ireland to Nashville several weeks each summer to promote interfaith understanding and friendship. The young people and their adult sponsors stay with Protestant and Catholic homes in Nashville. Calvary has provided money, host families, and special opportunities such as an ecumenical worship service. Each summer a group of teens use Calvary’s facility for a car wash fundraiser. Calvary contact: Jan Van Eys. Joceline LeMaire, Coordinator of the Ulster Project of Nashville, PO Box 5073, Nashville, 37205. http://www.ulsterproject.org/locations.htm

Volunteers in Mission (VIM)
Calvary supports VIM on the national and international level. Calvary members have traveled around the world providing direct service to people in need. Services have ranged from dental clinics and Christian education programs for children to construction projects and work at orphanages. Through VIM, Calvary has an ongoing relationship with United Methodist work in Estonia, specifically the United Methodist congregation in Ruusmae (see above Estonian connections). The pastor of this church has visited Calvary and members of our church have traveled there. Since the end of the Cold War, the church has grown in remarkable ways in the countries of the former Soviet bloc. Much of the credit goes to volunteers such as these. http://www.umvim.org/
